What is tatting? Tatting is a centuries old craft for making handmade lace that is gaining popularity again today! There are two ways to tat. One way uses a tatting shuttle. The other way uses a tatting needle. In shuttle tatting, the shuttle moves back and forth, over and under, transferring the loop to the other thread. In needle tatting, the stitches are first supported on the needle, then pulled off over the eye onto the thread creating a double stitch, which is the only stitch used in tatting. We carry a wide variety of tatting supplies including, tatting shuttles, tatting needles, tatting books, tatting patterns, and special tatting thread.
